how much does that ruin resale/trade value of your truck?

 

Depends on the region. In a place like, Utah, not much. In other places with less of an offroad population, much more. Either way, you'll reduce the amount of people interested in it, vs a blank canvas. Worst case, you could always source a replacement bumper when it comes time to sell it.

I installed a similar chop and swap bumper on my second gen, and I'm fully prepared to lose the bumper when I sell it, but I'm def keeping the winch, etc.

From what I have seen the plastic skin isn’t all that expensive. If you sold it a fresh one would look good since it would be absent of rock chips.
