OH! That hurts on the new fibreglass.
Your sliders are too close to the body. You need something to stick out more, not saying it would have helped but it would keep stuff a little further away.

Installed the iDrive Australia throttle controller today. The unit arrived two weeks go, but the included harness had the wrong connector for Tacomas. A few emails and photos back and forth, and they sent me the correct harness.

It changes the gas pedal "gain" to be more- or less touchy. The U- settings (U1 - U9) are good for removing the initial deadband in the throttle in daily driving. The E- settings (E1 - E9) are good for 4Lo crawling off-road where you may want the throttle to be less sensitive. The unit has separate calibrations for AT and MT, too. Similar in functionality to Pedal Commander and Sprint Booster, but smaller size and simpler to use.

Buying from the mfr in Australia (vs. the US site) saves some money due to current forex rates.

Yep, and they include one colored faceplate free of charge (extra $18 USD on the US site). Took about one week to arrive via DHL. Beware there's an extra ~$70 CAD charged by DHL for brokerage and taxes (which would be present if you bought from the US site as well.)

Lucky you didn't strip the bolts :)

I snagged a set of E-torx sockets from Princess Auto a few years ago. Came in handy for removing the two intake cover studs. Of course Toyota changed those to normal hex drive for 3rd gen...

$30 for a set of 10 I think. Not great but, had to order off of Amazon since princes auto sites pictures and description were going to lead to a mess up with no return happening. It works. I think those are the only 12 point sockets on my truck. Don’t have any more torx (other than the roof rack) and only have a few Allen head bolts (front diff and one of the front diff mounts)

I did it in March this year all the way to Attawapiskat. Definitely a great adventure!

I'm not sure if I'd go next year but definitely would do it again. From London to Attawapiskat and back it was 3200 km and took me 4 days.
