I'm a new old member and created an account so I can ask a couple of questions. I have a 3rd Gen Tacoma and wanted some suggestions on tires and rims.

    1. I want Nitto Ridge Grapplers, but they don't make them in 16's.
    2. What are some good rims to get for the ridge grapplers?

    Any suggestions would help!

For best performance and mpgs you want to keep the setup as light as possible. Meaning calculate your wheel/tire combined weight for the products you are evaluating and consider accordingly. It may be more advantageous to run 17s over 16s. E-load tires are performance and mpg killers while also having a harsher ride. Lighter weight C-load more preferable.

Rad, good to know. Getting a test fit today just to make sure the 285s fit. Don't them to rub.

Awesome! If be interested to see if they do fit without rub - I’m seriously considering those tires myself but I don’t really want to deal with a cab mount chop. Let us know how the test fit goes!

I had a test fit with a 285 mud tire and that fit without rubbing by about 1". So my only concern is that when I take it off-roading I might run into some issues. Had 265's ordered along with the 285s so I can compare today.

    I'll keep you posted.

Nice! Well if you’re a bonafide mall crawler like me than ya don’t need to worry about that 1”... except maybe over the speed bumps in the parking lot :p

I definitely plan to go back on some trails, I've just not had the time and now that I'm able to start investing in it again I'm for sure going back out.

That said, I need to get an alignment done on it because it's rubbing but only when I do a U turn.
