If anyone can shed light on this it would be appreciated. For some reason EVERY other Toyota sales region in the country lists their Customer cash incentive(rebate) on the Toyota website except for Southeast Toyota. In SET, dealers refer to it as “dealer cash”. From May to June, every region’s customer cash went down from $1750 to $1500 except for two that stayed at $1750.
    - Does anyone know where we can see exactly what the dealer cash incentive is?

I put a deposit down on a Tacoma last month and the dealer is telling me that the incentive went down by $500. I find it hard to believe that every other place in the country went down by $250 except for Southeast Toyota that went down by $500.

I don’t mind the extra $250 as that is just the way it is even though I don’t think you should agree on a price, put down a deposit then the seller changes the price but oh well.

If you gave them a deposit then where is the signed sales contract?

I have the signed worksheet with all the numbers on it but you don’t sign the actual sales contract until the vehicle is delivered.

I guess I can try and call Toyota customer service and ask them about dealer cash but I’m sure I’ll get stonewalled there.

A worksheet is a useless sales tool from a buyer’s perspective as it’s unenforceable...you gave them the consideration “a deposit” they in turn owe you a sales contract...the contract would show the “meeting of the minds” on price...which would be enforceable otherwise there no need for a deposit. Like you said you agreed on a price with the dealer should have reduced that to a sales contract then give a deposit...with a sales contract in hand they wouldn’t be able to change the terms like they are doing now because you have no contract and yet they have your deposit.

I agree with you in premise but from what others have said, price being contingent on rebate at actual time of delivery is standard practice although it definitely was not told to me prior. I could certainly walk away and get my deposit back but even at $500 more, it’s probably the best deal I’m going to find. Just frustrating bc I have to believe there is trickery going on. I wish someone could confirm how “dealer cash” works and how much is currently being given by Toyota Corp in SET.
