I've got a 2020 trd offroad. Currently running 265/70/r16's. Will 285/70/r17"s fit without rubbing? I'm also thinking about getting some quality wheel spacers

No, spacers can make it worse and aren’t necessarily an upgrade since you will be offsetting the wheel. A little lift may help, but that’s a lot wider and taller of a tire

Here’s the difference between the two sizes....the rear is not a problem but the front will need some work to clear.

Cab mount chop, pinch weld fold, wheel well trim, fender trim etc. And just say NO to spacers! They will push the wheel and tire out creating the same issue as having too much offset. Rub rub and more rubbing. Alot of people want big tires but don't want to do the work involved in making them fit. If you're not into cutting and chopping your truck to make said mods fit then you should probably keep them donuts on.

You need a sawzall, a sledge, and some welding gear. Tub it. No lift necessary. Good luck.

Mine don’t rub with a 2” Toytec lift. Bought it this way from Toyota. They didn’t chop anything.

I recommend you level the front instead of spacers.

    yes it will still rub...

I have 285/70r17 on my truck no rub at all, I have a 2 inch rough county leveling kit in the front and no lift in the rear, now that being said I don't go romping and rock climbing either. but your every day to day driving I have not rubbed at all. I went through this site front to back and could not get a legit answer until I did it my self, I have the method nv 305 with BFG K2

Figured I would toss my two cents in. I run 285/70/R17 Load range C with a 2” Procomp leveling kit. I don’t have any rub issues, and they don’t ride stiff like the Load range E that I had previously.

Ive seen a few guys say that with high caster they can clear 285’s, im wondering if this is the new movement or if theyd still rub under compression (i.e. off road)

I’ve taken it to the beach on areas that have not been maintained, and didn’t have any wheel rub. With that said, full compression or a hard clock left or right in off-roading is definitely different than sand. Hopefully others can shed more light on it. If anything, they fill the wheel well up nicely.

@TRok how do you like the plasti-dipped wheels? how have they held up? considering that on my truck...

Believe it or not they’re not plasti dipped. I had them powder coated black satin finish. I then popped the chrome logos off, sanded them down and ptm my MGM. They’ve held up really well so far.
