Agreed. Northern Utah doesn't need an "enduro bike" really. Seeing people riding top of the line SB165s and Firebirds and stuff riding down Rush a I'm keeping up on my XC hardtail really makes my day.

You all will appreciate this. Had four boomer clients last weekend and all of them were dentists and all of them were riding Yetis

Yep, I get the same thrill watching my wife pass those same people on her 115mm Pivot Mach 4. We were at the top of burro pass for WE and someone actually told her she didn't have enough bike for the ride. We passed that dude, with her at the front of our group, maybe a mile or two in to that decent.

My LBS raves about the Switchblade. So much so that it makes me want one. There's a bunch of riding near me that I could actually use that thing as it should be. But most of my rides recently have been leaving from my house and I can do them on my hardtail and still have a lot of fun. Most of my focus right now is in wheeling since a lot is opening up - maybe I'll get one this fall when I have the time to ride it.

So I'm not quite sure how I did it, but trying to de-bead a tough tire last night to add sealant, and I managed to yank the tire lever out from the stubborn bead, come across, get the lever hooky bit under my left thumb nail and peel my fingernail halfway back. Needless to say, it hurts a little. Bikes are fun right?

Utah and western Colorado are a few places I've learned that, as long as they don't look like a confused squirrel, to just shut up and ride, because they may just smoke you on the way down. Point proven.

+1 on this. I tried the sealant in the tire, mount the tire, then air it up method once and holy shit, was it messy. Got sealant everywhere.

Valve core wrench changed my life

It seems like a great all-rounder, quiver of 1 type of bike. Pedals great, real poppy and playful, but has enough travel for almost any ride. It's rel purdy too!

For me, I kinda prefer the combo of a bigger bike and a hardtail. The big bike is nice to have for park days and when you do get to go to rowdy places, plus many of them pedal so well these days and the hardtail when you want to be reasonable.

I normally do too, but I didn't have the little tube cap thing for my orange seal, all they had was a 4oz refill bottle, so I had to go with the bead method.

I have a friend who frequently rides everything in SLC and Park City on his only bike: a singlespeed hardtail (Spot Honeybadger).

    He's not human, obviously.

Yep I got humbled my first ride in Colorado by my realtor. He showed up wearing spandex with this carbon gt hardtail. I thought oh no he’s going to take me on a bunch of gravel paths that Xc riders call trails but I was bad wrong. He assumed since I had a full suspension bike that I liked trying to die so things got interesting from there. Needless to say, He rides that Xc bike harder than most people I’ve seen riding Dh at Crested Butte. I still keep in contact with him to ride every now and then but he can’t ride half of the time because his bike is in for another warranty claim on his shattered frame.
