@Muddinfun Insurance company never got back to me with the tow company contact info. I found the harness for $25 on Amazon (they have since upped the price to $60 now) so I figure it will be easier to just replace it myself. At least I know it will be done correctly, and I won't have to waste time taking the truck to the shop, getting a rental, and everything else. Taking my time into account makes this the cheaper solution.

So, you don't know what tow company towed your truck? That's kind of strange. Not being nosey, but just seems odd.

I can certainly understand the financial vs. time issue, but still, I believe in principle and making people pay for their screw ups.

Yep, it was kind of strange. After the wreck the truck was still derivable and I was less than a mile from home. I contacted the insurance company and they sent Enterprise to get me a rental. Then next day the tow company picked up the truck from my driveway while I was at work so I have no idea what company it was. The insurance company had it taken to a central facility for estimation and then someone took it to the shop for repair. Somewhere along the line the wire was damaged and for some reason the insurance company hasn't responded to me with the tow company contact information yet.

I agree with making people pay for screw ups in general. In this case though I figure I have two choices. 1 - fix it my self: $25 and an hour on the weekend. 2 - convince tow company they screwed up, take vehicle to shop, get rental, pick up vehicle from shop and return rental, and probably blow an hour or two of vacation time.

I have pictures and receipts and will still contact the tow company when I get the info to pursue reimbursement but I'm not holding my breath.

Wow! That's really screwy. My opinion is that the insurance company chose the tow company for both tows, and they need to be responsible for the damage done by a company they contracted with. That's just my opinion though.

If it was towed by 2 different tow companies, they will both blame the other company.

It was the wiring harness between the T above the rear diff and the wheel. Go up a couple responses to see that I got a new harness off Amazon. Not a hard fix.
