    Hey Tacoma World,

    https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2004-toyota-tacoma-25/

As the title indicates, I'm putting my beloved 04 single cab 2.7 L Manual 4wd on Bring a Trailer for auction and I wanted to post here to give the forum members an opportunity to get in on the action. I started working from home in January and can no longer justify having three vehicles when I barely drive anymore as this thing has been sitting in the garage other than the occasionally cruise around town to keep things maintained. This thing is super clean and has very very little rust as it has been on the west coast its whole life. Carfax is clean and detailed service records are available online at toyota.com/owners. More detailed photos of the taco will be available on the BAT listing.

This gem of a white taco went on BAT earlier this year: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2004-toyota-tacoma-20/

haha I'm the owner and I wish it too had bucket seats! idk exactly why but maybe to feel more like a sport truck. It's on my list of mods I would like but for now, she remains stock as can be.

The top bid was $12,500 which was below reserve price and well below what I was willing to let the truck go for. BAT instructs the seller not to inform others of the reserve price which can be read about on their website if needed.

If you run a simple vin check off the vin posted on BAT (https://www.vehiclehistory.com/vin-report/5TEPM62N94Z421798#classifieds-records) you can see the price the truck was last sold for and can probably assume the seller would be looking for an offer that is comparable or higher than what they bought the truck for given the demand for these vehicles.

However, the truck is not actively for sale as I have since decided to keep the vehicle. Love this truck :) If someone were to PM me with an offer I couldn't refuse I might consider it but there is no set price at the moment. Looks like these trucks have been fetching a pretty penny on BAT as of late too.

What do you think my post-corona truck is worth now after looking at this? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2000-toyota-tacoma-6/

It has bucket seats and is an xtra cab but that thing has 100k more miles... Looks like the time to buy was pre-corona...

Silver paint ain't my cup of tea. Sun always fades 'em fast and furious. Garage or no garage. A four banger in the long one ?? Right ... Grandma in my rear view mirror, on my tail, riding my bumper ain't my cup of tea as well. Post covid is the time to buy a toy. Folks are outta work. Selling off the toys. ... errr garage queens ...

Ha yeah for real if it were xtra cab might as well be the 3.4L but then again the 2.7 is supposedly rock solid. Prices on the tacos seem to have been going up post covid though... Seems there is a pretty steep demand for decent used vehicles right now. Just saying that if that tacoma with 140k miles sold for 16k to some buyer who fancies that sort of thing then something with 100k less miles, regular cab would be valued higher. Obviously that truck is on the higher end of the spectrum but my point still stands.

Lots of folks don't want a regular cab truck. Especially a small truck. There is certainly a niche market that will pay top dollar though. I am one that would pay dearly if I were in the market. Fortunately, I have a 2014(last year) that only has 47k. It should last me a long time.

I hear ya on that one and that sounds like a really nice taco you got there. I definitely can see how a regular cab truck would be too small for many... This thing is pretty tight and not exactly family friendly. It's hard to even fit one passenger plus groceries in the cab... Well said about the niche market though... It doesn't seem many manufacturers make trucks as small as the reg cab 1st gen anymore as everyone seems to want a crew cab these days.
