    Hello all,

My first post (aside from the intro thing) is a fairly minor detail, but it's the only thing that's bothered me so far since getting my truck.

So, 2015 Tacoma TRD Sport, equipped with the Entune Audio Plus system. At times, particularly when the sun is close to directly overhead, there's a lot of glare, making the Entune's screen almost unreadable. Does anyone have a similar issue and have you bought/made some sort of solution? Inquiring minds (or at least mine) want to know.

Welcome to TW! I've seen a number of posts about this over the years and experience it myself from time-to-time, so it's safe to say most of us have the same problem. I recall seeing a couple of "solutions," but nothing that made me want to buy one. Here's an example. While that one doesn't appear to be available at this time and I'm unaware of any OEM solution, there are a many other "Universal Adjustable Car Visor Sun Shade GPS/DVD/LCD Navigation Covers" currently listed on eBay. Good luck!

I have an aftermarket Blaupunkt head unit and I get glare on the screen. The solution I found was just knowing where to touch the screen without looking. Or just wait until you turn and the glare is elsewhere.

I wonder if windshield tinting would help. I have seen some who tint the top 6" as an alternative to using the sun visors. State law varies on how far down you can go, or going past the AS1 line could be a no-no in all states. Good luck.

That looks like it would work perfectly, @hemitruk. It would make me a bit nervous to have a rigid piece of aluminum in that position -- seems like in an accident, where people move around a LOT more than one would guess, even when using restraints, that it could be a hazard. How did you think through that as you fabricated your shade?

A breakaway design in, say, polypropylene or another suitable plastic, would be more reassuring (at least to this driver).

Were I mount it has to be thin. Not worried about accident .Airbags, seat belts . Also it sits between stereo and dash kit . Slight bent in middle of side is all the tension to hold it in place . Tap it with your finder it will fall off.

It might, but as I live in NJ, I am left to deal with one of the strictest sets of laws in the US when it comes to window tint.
If nothing else, it might be a fun project to work on with my friend and his 3d printer.

I found this on Amazon. It says it is for a Prius and says nothing about Tacoma. Prius must have the same Entune as a 2104 Tacoma. It fits fine, is easy to remove and install. While it is not perfect, I doubt anything would be but it is a great help at most angles. For me, it was worth the money.
