The dreaded P0705 code happened.

Imagine my surprise when I left the store today and found the check engine light and traction control light illuminated. The truck revved up before it moved and when shifted between park and reverse and drive the transmission hesitated before going into gear. It's only got 42K miles.
I borrowed a friend's scanner and got:
P0705
$07E8
Transmission range
sensor A Circuit
(PRNDL Input)

I plan to bring it in to the dealer tomorrow, 20 miles away. My drivetrain warrantee expires in less than 2 weeks. Will this be covered?
Should I have it towed?

 

Check the fluid level first ...just to be sure it's full & clean.
If it drives normally. I'd drive it. Unless you have towing ins.

The problem is not the harness wiring. It’s a part that goes on the transmission. Around $300 part and if you know a bit of mechanic you should be able to fix yourself!!

 

Tel me about it 2 day old taco, 130 miles on the ODO and the factory didn’t fill the fluid
