Doing an oil change and a nut and bolt check on the truck today. I noticed that my lower control arms are about to break off the bushing bosses. Both sides. Not ideal I guess. My truck is a clean one owner '06 with 142k miles and it's never been offroad. Why would these crack? Edit: The underlined is sarcasm incase you are slow. I use this truck like most of you pretend to use yours. The cause of this is not a mysterious thing.

Seriously though, no complaints, I wheel this truck quite a bit. It sees thousands of trail miles and gets driven daily too. These are the original arms with the second set of bushings and ball joints in 140k. That's not bad considering how it gets used.

Here's the real question, aftermarket arms with poly bushings, rod ends, or stock replacements? I know that rod ends transmit ALL the NVH and squeak like a rusty swing set. Poly bushings arent much better and wear out in 20k miles. It seems like I get 70k out of a stock set.

Known issue, happens to people that wheel a lot.

Solution depends on your bank account.

Either get a set of aftermarket LCAs or weld a piece of flat stock around the circumference of the bushing tube to reinforce it

I haven't noticed much difference between stock rubber, aftermarket poly or aftermarket delrin
