Lost both keys! Do I have to tow the vehicle to the Dealer?

I searched the forum for an answer but did not find one. Sorry if there are 1,000 threads on this. I lost both keys (let's say children + business trip + user error). The dealer charged me $100 for two new keys cut but I have to tow the vehicle to them to have them programmed.

I have a base model, 4x2, no frills version. (Want the TRD Pro next but have to run out the lease on my Lexus).

Is there a DIY method to programming the keys? Thanks in advance.

Leave the truck where it is. It’s over. Just walk away.

There should be a way to do it with tech stream. Not sure if you need at least one key to program other keys.

Dealer wanted 250 per key for my Honda so 100 for 2 isn’t bad.

Have you checked your car insurance policy. I have a road side assistant included in mine. Cost less than $10 per year for it. It would cover the tow.

Most DIY I know of requires you to have one key. You may be SOL and have to use the dealer.

One key located last night! Found in my son's (7 yrs old) pajama pants in his drawer! Thank goodness. Now I can handle this and have three keys going forward.

You can reset the immobilizer with techstream. My techstream and dongle I got on ebay that runs on windows 10. You will need to create a pin code with the seed that is created running the techstream immobilizer initialization. I use the site https://www.weboctopus.nl/ to get a pin code.

Initialization takes around 15 min and you then program the smart key portion as last step. If you do find an original key, you would just do the smart key portion to add new keys ... lots of hoops :)
