Plenty of people haul tall lumber by proposing it against a towel so it overhangs the cab and use tie down in a number of places. I’d probably use the rear window wrapped in a towel and tied down with the tailgate dropped approach if I didn’t have the OEM rack.

Take a look to see if you can tie it under the chassis. I’ve seen this done many of times.
    Good luck.

6x10’ and 1x12’ posts. For 1 piece of conduit I’d be alright with no extender/tailgate down as long as secured properly and flagged

I have the same bed extender works great. Recently hauled some 16 footer 2x8s with it. Only issue was my truck doesn't have tie downs in the front corners of the bed. Didn't notice that until I went to strap it down. Had to buy some concrete bags to weight it down up there.

Going back later this week to get some 18 foot 2x8s.

No. I have not done it before. But I have seen it many times in the past. My truck is locked up in my big garage for the Tropical Storm that passed through my area yesterday.

Not to derail too far but it's because they know everyone who cares is going to switch them out anyways. They could put the Pro Fox setup in all the TRD Offroads and you'd probably still have the same number of people doing suspension swaps but the MSRP of the truck would be higher.

Man the red shirts have a hard enough time, no need to increase their risk of accidental death by making one hang off some conduit doing 60 down the highway.
