400 miles on my 2020 and I can’t find a single weird thing with the transmission

I’d say 400 miles is at least the equivalent of a thorough test drive. Variety of driving conditions. Hilly highway, rural roads, city driving. I’ve been waiting for the third gen transmission shifting issues to appear but nothing. Zero. It drives like any other automatic I’ve driven. Nice and smooth and power when needed.

    Love the truck.

Ive got 1750 miles on mine.
    No trans issues.
The alignment is off though, the local trusted alignment shop will be on that.

My 2018 auto shifts/performs great with just over 21,000 miles on it.
Keep in mind while reading this forum, that some owners are not happy unless they have an issue to complain about.

No issues with shifting of my trans in 1000 miles since new - BUT - I do get a slight vibration when speed
is coming down through 2nd gear but nothing severe

Imo, the transmission shifting only gets smoother once you get over 1k miles on the odo. I can't find anything to complain about the transmission now either. Just wish i could improve the ride compliance. I'm going to eventually try some KYB shocks and see if they help.

I don't have any real complaints about the 2020 tranny other than the cruise control.

It is way too eager to get back up to speed when the radar senses a car leaving the lane in front of me.

Cruise needs a serious chill pill, I hate it when its constantly kicking down gears. Cruise should never kick down.

Mine was good for the first month, then I added some larger 10 plys, and now it acts sort of stupid(in Cruise control).

There has never been a truer statement on TW. A lot of complaints about 3rd gens trans or differential noise. ZERO problems here.

My 19 TRD OR is AWESOME. its the smoothest running truck I've ever owned. Stock is keeps up with guys with lifted trucks and big tires.

I feel that a lot of people that lift their truck feel they become an amazing off-road driver overnight. Which is definitely not the case, I watch a lot of videos (as we all do) of these overloading/offroad guys, and seeing them try to go up a simple obstacle is more entertaining sometimes then someone who actually can drive.

I love mine as well - bought it new in Jan of 19...I've got right at 60K miles now (lots in 4 wheel drive) - lots of highway driving - up and down (TN) mountains daily...I actually love the adaptive CC. Enjoy the truck and be safe!

Gotta remember the new trucks have the new programming the old trucks didn’t. Just because yours is good doesn’t mean the old 16s weren’t garbage. That said my 20 is normal other than...

two things. I agree about it going balls to the wall to get back up to speed. But these trucks have two overdrive gears both 5 and 6. So to get more torque the truck will kick out of OD to 4th. Try driving in sequential 5th, it won’t drop to 4th as much. Have seen better mpg since it doesn’t hunt for gears as much and stays in 5th just fine.

You think thats funny. You should see some of these jeep guys here. They think once they'd seen a jeep commercial, and bought one they are invincible. I've see more jeeps with the rubber side up than any other 4wd vehicle.

Yep. Prepare for the pitchfork mafia that also complains about tire shine on their fender flares and why does the interior plastic scratch.
