I believe they do. One of the reasons I steered away from them.

Hmm. What will happen without the charger?

the memory of the battery would get stuck at around 80%.

Then its probably too late for my battery. It was bought for a '05 dodge dakota in 2012, out lasted that truck and was stuffed into my '16 taco in 2017 when I added the winch from that same dodge.

maybe, maybe not...you could try a deep discharge on the battery then put it on a charger and see what happens...truth be told, you probably won't notice a difference between a 100% charged and 80% charged AGM, until you start discharging it on a regular basis.

I have 2x odyssey pc1400 g35s. I use a duralast agm charger from AutoZone and it seems to work great. Why do we need a specific odessy charger?
And now that VF has allowed us to alter the alternator settings, my truck charges them at 14.5-6v

I’m concerned that on long trips, charging the battery at high voltage for long periods will actually overcharge them. At some point they get full and they need to be on a float charge at around 13.6-13.8v. Otherwise you can damage them by overcharging.

    I don't disagree with you.

Quick update - i've had my VF altered tune running @ 14.5-6v for about a week with some normal puttering around town - i probably burned a half tank of gas.
My batteries were at 95% this morning rather than the 85-90% previously from the stock 13.5v.
I'm wondering about getting some $30 solar AGM charger, and a small thin panel for my roof rack - that way the batteries almost always stay 100%.

Meanwhile, i'm going to email Odessey and ask about constant charge rates. I didn't do enough homework before i did this :)

how are you measuring the battery charge percentage?

I think I’m going to keep mine as-is and just put my charger on it once a month, now that I’ve already bought it. The aux battery is on a redarc bcdc so i know it’s being charged properly.

I just hooked up my AGM charger and it said 95% and started charging it to 100%. I don't have a really good way to read the batteries besides that.
I also use a bluetooth monitor https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TJ2GYJL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 paired to my android phone, but i'm pretty sure the percentage is calibrated for Lead Acid, and not AGM because it always says 100% until i start drawing from it.

This is BS! My AGM has been in about 6 months, the voltage on the battery when the truck is off, reads 13.1 volts That's more than full.

Update, I've found in very cooled temps(sub freezing), the stock system needs at least 90 minutes to get a full charge.
