What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Added the Dodge Retainer Mod to my 2007 Taco. Part number is https://www.meadorpartsonline.com/oem-parts/mopar-ring-retainer-ring-5170492aa

As you can see, I couldn't figure out how to remove the washer since it seemed pressed on so I ended up cutting off one edge so it would sit flat against the retainer.

These retainers are super heavy duty and will lay flat. They'll swivel up 90 degrees and have enough resistance so they stay up. As a result, they do not rattle whenever you hit a rough patch of road.

Highly recommend this mod if you've looking to add tie-down points on the bed floor.

 

I filed the retaining "threads" off. Nice cut though!

My old ones were depo lights that came on the truck when I bought it 3 years ago. Did the BHLM. Only difference on these new ones is the turn signal reflector is blacked out too. Not a huge deal with my very bright led turn signal bulbs. One I recently broke off-road and the other had like 2” of water in it.


Then I finished my second half door. Tomorrow I’ll prime and bed line them.

 

spent some time on NHs Class 6 roads getting feel for my new suspension!
