I thought the same thing. Don't do it! Once you start you'll get pulled into a deep hole. I took the old tuner dial from the console and wanted to see if I could get the light working, so I cut up an old USB cable and did some testing. Got it to work, now I don't know what to do with it.

Use of a torque wrench of any kind is actually one of the most inaccurate ways to torque a bolt. There is a great Aviation Mechanic, Mike Busch who has many webinars and articles about this topic. In his research he found that measuring the bolt stretch is actually the best way to properly torque a fastener. Because you cannot measure that for fasteners in blind holes, the next best method is to use angle measurements, this is what high-end race teams do. They snug up a bolt, then tighten a specific number of degrees of rotation.

As far as using a torque wrench, he had many suggestions, because technique can change results drastically. His recommendation is to lube the bolt and/or nut with STP before assembly. Then you snug the bolt, then you torque to half the final spec, then you complete the final torque to the final value you need. It is incredibly important that with each torque you move the wrench in ONE fluid motion, not "bouncing" it to reach the final value. Frictional loss and not being fluid with the movement can vary your final result wildly.

His favorite torque wrench is the digital type as they use the most accurate sensors.

I have a suspiciously similar one from a different brand. They aren't a safe per se, but they'll keep your kids, or dumb friends from messing with your stuff.

Anyone have either one of the pop up canopies? I’m a fan of the straight leg version because the offer more shade and you can join multiples together to cover a larger area. Just wondering: at double the cost of the slant leg, are you getting double the canopy? The straight leg version is labeled “heavy duty”.

Many times the “dry” torque spec is different than the “wet” torque. If you lube the bolt and torque it to a dry spec, you may be over tightening it.

That's basically what I was getting at. Unless you are very meticulous, it doesn't really matter what torque wrench you use, the error will be there.

Bolts used in high vibration and engine assembly are really the only ones that require that much attention to detail.

Added an end cabinet on my gen1 cart. Love the extra spave. Next purchase will be the 44” roller.

also bought the new Fortress 27gal air compressor, but it only came with one bolt for the wheels and it seems to have a leak somewhere I cannot find by spraying soapy water on all the connections. I’m going to be taking it back. Might get the Kobalt quiet tech 26 gallon instead.

I want an end cabinet, just think they're overpriced.

Anyways, coming from someone who has a 44" and love it, go ahead and get one size up if space allows..

Just be mindful if you fill the extra end cabinet up, itll become a bit more tipsy in that direction. Not a big deal if you dont move it around but something to consider when pushing it. Ive seen guys eith add casters under it or move the fixed casters from the orginal cart to under the cabinet (with spacers)

the 44” with the top cabinet will probably be perfect. Just not now, don’t have space. Need a detached garage first.

yeah I know. It’s a heavy SOB to be a small cabinet. The cart stays stationary 99% of the time so it’s not an issue.

So far into hardpack with some rocks not bigger than a softball. I need to put a lime tree into pure untouched clay, will update with how that goes.

I used the coupon I posted earlier and picked up the 30" shop fan. This thing is a beast. I think I'm going to hang it upside down from the rafters in the corner of the garage to save space.
