Picked background acting up as a hobby.
Years ago, when Fast 8 was filming in Cleveland I found about doing extra work.

Since then, I have had the opportunity to be on set with Robert Redford, Danny Glover, Tom Waits (Old Man and a Gun), Matthew McConaughey (White Boy Rick) and was lucky to be upgraded on the Russo Brothers (Marvel Fame) movie "Cherry" with a speaking role with (Spiderman) Tom Holland.

Got some nice screen time in Assassins Code sitting next to Justin Chatwin in a bar scene.
A nice cross over in Manhunt Deadly Games as a militia.

Hopefully (if it makes the cut) I did a nice walk down a street as a greasy mechanic carrying a toolbox in Ron Howards Hillbilly Elegy.

It is a fun hobby, If there are any movies shooting in your area I would say go for it, you will have the time of your life.

I've been in a couple tv commercials. No pay, more like I walked in and they were like,"Here, act like your playing pool and ok try on these moto boots." It was fun running into old friends and them telling me they saw me on tv.

I've worked on TV sets as a grip/lighting assistant, my main gig is photography though but there's some crossover when you're assisting.

Tons of sitting around and waiting on film sets, followed by bursts of crazy work. Not a fan of the 10+ hour days myself but the catering is usually awesome

The new regulations following covid going into effect for the film industry will be interesting to say the least, curious how it's going to play out

Not really, we are there to be seen and not heard. If we do have to show convo I usually just say the alphabet, but we cannot make any noise doing so.

I got a background role for a scene in Yellowstone. That they cut out in edit.

I did get to sit in Kevin Costner's truck for the show. I wouldn't say no.

For Old Man and a Gun we were at a prison in Michigan, at least 100 of us. Tom Waits, Danny Glover and Robert Redford not to mention the crew and others goings on. Had to cost thousands...
We shot 3 scenes that I was in, the yard walking in a line, breakfast chow getting tray and going to seat, jail cell walking out onto tear and walking.

NONE of the prison footage made it into the movie....all that effort and a 15 hour day.

Did a lot of extra work in the 90s. Moved up to being a stand - in for actors. The most fun had to be Lee Majors in Bionic Ever After. Worked in a lot of made for TV movies like The Yearling & the Hunley. Sometimes got to be a photo double.

I saw myself as a dead guy in Die Hard & a cop in Bagger Vance. Only film credit was as a re enactor in a documentary called "Porgy, an American Voice." I played Dubose Heyward, the writer.

Also filmed in a party scene in Ace Ventura
