The 95-97 Taco Thread

I had the exhaust custom made,
magnaflow Single in, dual out after the cat with headers,
Exhaust tips sit 1/2 below the body line,
The stock exhaust is more like 5” below the body line or more.
In the process of getting the newly painted powder coated valve covers back on.

 

i saw a paradise blue on i-29 in Iowa today a bit north of the Nebraska City exit, it was going the other direction so i did not see if they were locals to me or not

 

these are the trucks (a 96 & 97) i have found so far at the salvage lot here on the IA/NE border, in states that are not considered to be cold-climate states!
these trucks perhaps slipped through the cracks on the western fringes, their owners at the time not knowing that they could get a decent check for them under the warranty that did not necessarily apply here, even the local dealer mechanics were and perhaps still are oblivious to this situation.

1st we have a 1997 3.4 V6 single cab with 239k miles

Yeah, you know I think I will. My last build thread was for the grey and green trucks but I was bad about keeping it up to date. I think I'll start keeping track again with this one. Things are just about to get interesting again as it comes apart this winter for me to install the turbo kit.

This is my 96. The 95-97 front end is still growing on me. For some reason I like the 98-00 front ends the best.

 

I’ll play. Here’s my 97. 350k on the speedo. 5 speed swapped. About 120kish on the motor. Just installed Gx wheels today. 285/70r17’s

Might as well toss a few photos up from the weekend adventure! 96 with 450,000KM, 35's, about to go LT with a 2nd gen axle swap with custom Elkas. Painting the truck when this weather goes away!
