I'm remembering why I don't use the USB.

    • The main issue is that I can clearly hear faint high frequency interference from the phone when the USB is plugged it. It's like I can hear the phone's brain working. This is regardless whether USB is selected from the audio page, or if the audio is completely off.
    • It drives me crazy that I have to unplug/replug the phone to get the USB to play when switching back from a bluetooth source.
    • You have to have Apple Music downloaded in order to utilize Spotify.

And those reasons sound like they’re worth the reduced audio quality to me lol.

Anyone experience a turn off pop after installing the kicker key?

Well damn't Destin - I decided to try the USB for at least a week, and now I'm stuck with the thing because it does in fact improve the sound quality. It actually pushes the woofers better, and I can easily notice the deficiencies in the door sound deadening (next project.) If I'm in and out, I'll still use the bluetooth, but if I'm going to be cranking it for awhile, the USB feels worth the downsides I mentioned.

And that is exactly why I have people at least try it.
Glad you got benefit from it! Cheers!

Guys have some big questions? So been reading all the post with the kickers upgrades. So I ordered my speakers about 1 month ago but they recommended me to buy the DSC 6x9, DSC 6.75 and the kicker Subaru tweeter. I also bought the kicker key180.4. Can this set up work or do I need to purchase new door speakers? Any one do this set up I see that everyone bought components. Did I mess up buying the ones I did? Also how did y’all wire the dash speakers to the key if the key is only 4 channels do I just hook up the front and rear speakers or do I do the dash and front speakers and leave the rear out. Need some help.

The dash speaker and the door 6x9 are wired together so each set of tweeter and 6x9 run off one channel of the amp. There are a couple of threads on here detailing how to make a T harness for the key amp

Let me join the chorus of thanks to those who have offered significant help and advice throughout this thread. No way I would have taken this on without all the information here.

Going to put my harness together tonight. Will the install into and out of the head unit be pretty straightforward after the harness is completed and ready? I am using the stock Entune head unit.

It will. The instructions are very easy to make heads and tails. If your putting the amp behind the head unit, you'll know exactly where everything goes.

I put mine under the driver seat. Didnt want to overhear with the az sun

Forgive my ignorance.... I have completed the T harness as shown in this and the other detailed thread. I just took out the head unit and I need some help with the connections. I think I have the speaker connections (from amp to speaker), but have no clue with the rest. See these:

Same thing happened to me. Kept getting 4 beeps until I realized that streaming the pink noise was the reason for the error.

Eq on the head unit is flat?
Head unit volume set to 40?
    Environment is free of noise?
Gain on the amp is turned all the way to the left?
