Hi I’m completely new to this forum so bear with me but I own a 1998 4wd Tacoma! It is my first Toyota and I’ve fallen in love! I have not done any mods to it as I’m trying to make the mechanical side of it good first, and with that I have a question for all you taco mechanics. So my transmission has a problem (automatic) it will usually not shift into gear until it’s at about 2000 rpms and other times it will not shift in at all (it will let me move the gear shifter into drive). Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Thanks for the welcomes everybody, turns out that all the problem was was a rotted o-ring! Went from thinking I’m going to have to pay thousands to fixing it with ten cents! It’s crazy how much something so little can do!
