    Hello All,
First post here, so I hope I'm not just another new guy asking the "biggest tire on..." type question. But I've looked, and not been able to find a straight up answer to my question, and don't have tons of money or time to screw around with on guess work.

Truck is an 06 Double Cab, 4x4 SR5. Everything stock, except a Tyger T5 hard cover on the rear.

I bought a full set of Bilstein 5100's. Already installed the rears, on the stock leafs(which are very flat). Going to do the fronts in the next couple of weeks, and replace ball joints and tie rods while I'm at it. How much of a lift is going to come with just putting the 5100's on with stock springs up front? I'm not necessarily looking for a giant lift, but, if it's going to jack up the front end, I'll need to replace the rear leaf springs. I'm already sitting close to level. Also, do I need to replace the front springs along with the shocks? I figure I should just do it while I'm up there, if so.

I've been looking at OME Dakars for the rear, but would that be overkill? Again, not necessarily looking for a big lift, but would like the truck to be running better and more stable, followed by a good look.

Thanks for any help, I've been looking on the forum for months, and it's been a real help.

    Cody

With just the 5100's set at 0, there will be no lift. They are adjustable though so you can go from 0"-2.5". The lower the better as far as ride quality goes.

Bilstein 5100's w/front's set at 1.75", TRD exhaust, Colormatched grill, Illuminated 4wd selector switch, BAMF Bolt on Sliders w/kickout.
How many miles are on the truck? Amount of lift will be determined by how you set the shock at install.

Bilstein designed the 5100's to be used with the stock coil.

Thanks for the replies. Mine has 93,000 miles. Good to know about the stock spring being what they were made for.
Just picked the truck up in January. It was up in Oklahoma, and has a bit of rust underneath. So I’m just trying to be vigilant and replace what needs to be replaced. The springs appear fine, but I’ve never messed with any on past trucks.

Even with the Dakar medium duty I still netted 2.5" of lift in the rear. With an empty bed it was the worst ride and I ended up switching out to Deaver. If I could do it again I'd probably run Icon RXT, look into them, running them on the lowest setting is probably your best bet in terms of ride quality and not netting too much lift
