Anyone ever sprayed the exterior of a canopy with a bed cover spray? I’ve got a buddy who is willing to sell me a green canopy for little to nothing and I’d like to turn it black. Anyone even tried it or know it’ll work? I think it’d look good and would be pretty rugged.

Thoughts? Is there a better way to repaint a canopy?

I’ve seen a lot of pictures and threads where people use bedliner, plasti-dip, etc. if you’re okay with a matte, slightly textured black they’ll work well. Prep work will be most important. The other route, especially if you can get the cap for dirt cheap, is to have a paint shop color match it to the truck. Definitely more money than a gallon or two of bedliner paint
