I’m in the everything worked out great camp I guess. When I ordered, my color was 2-3 wk lead time, received it in 1 wk to the day but was fully expecting 3-5 wks with all the extra drama right now. Holes lined up fine and finished product is as advertised, I’m really happy with it.

I noticed they have a phone number posted on their homepage in case anyone missed that.

FWIW I’m trying to give everyone a lil extra latitude these days with all the extra challenges we”re all dealing with. Heck it just took Meso 6 wks to deliver a shipment that was advertised 2-3 wk Lead time and he doesn’t respond to my questions on other items either, but it’s cool, I know, first world problems right.

hope you guys get your orders straightened out soon, and enjoy your new tailgates. It’s a very nice improvement worth waiting for in my humble opinion. :crapstorm:

Installed mine with zero issues, with impact took me all of 5min. Perfect fit, super happy.

(My knees and my beer bottles are probably even happier)

Having a good prep station when I go camping has always been an issue because I make things like ribs and artichokes and French toast... food that needs quite a bit of prep space. There is never enough table space when camping or picnic-ing with friends and fam - and so this is def one of my favorite new upgrades. The peeps can have their table for games and chillin and I can be preppin some killer grub.

So maybe this upgrade is not for everyone, but it’s definitely a win win for me.

I'm a bit jealous that you have a blue one. I ordered mine like 2 months ago w/ no issues. But only color available was black. Wanted a blue. :frusty:

I did end up pulling the trigger on one, even with the lack of communication I experienced. I live local so now to wait to pick it up. I just couldn’t find something that would suit my needs like this will. I camp a lot for work and having this space to use for that is worth it. Between not having to pay a shipping fee and the coupon they had, it came out to about the same price as the other brands.

I just noticed they no longer have the 20% off coupon but are offering free shipping, still a great deal!

Wait a minute?!?!! They cancelled the 20% off coupon but are now doing free shipping??

What in the heck. Still $229. Who're they fooling?

Exactly, ha! I wouldn’t buy one now because I’d have to pay more, so maybe it was aimed at local pickup options... hmmm. Glad I ordered when I did.

I really liked the idea of the Mountain Hatch tailgate cover, but I didn't want to pay $200+ for it... So I made my own! I'm sure that Mountain Hatch is better and more convenient than the one I made, but I had some free time and was looking for a distraction.

I ordered a piece of HDPE plastic off of eBay for $75 and free shipping. From there, I routered out some cupholders and a slot for utensils. The HDPE sheet wasn't big enough to cover the entire tailgate, so I cut my composite tailgate cover to allow for the HDPE insert.

I'm pretty happy with the results:

Happy with mine too. Shipping took a tad bit longer than expected. I never had to contact them though. As echoed above though, some of the hardware doesn't reach down to the thread. Some have gone to hardware stores to buy longer bolts. I simply mixed and matched the existing bolts around and they work like a boss.

So today I picked up my Mountain Hatch. Just a little shop in a small industrial area. I go in, and there are stickers and patches on a table in front, I grabbed a couple stickers and a patch. I go in the back and there's this shop with just stacks of boxes and a pile of tailgate panels, and what looks like a decked out tacoma. The two guys back there were really cool and they offered to install my panel. Turns out they are brothers and the owners of the company. So it looks like it's just two guys basically running the whole thing. They said they had just got in 120 panels today that now they have to box up and ship. Now I kinda feel like an ass complaining because if it's just them, they really have their hands full getting all their orders out. I'm happy to support a small company and the product seems solid and I know I'll be happy with it. Install took them around 2 minutes. Super cool to chat with too.

So they arent making them themselves? Sounds like they're a middle man - which may explain the higher cost. Still too pricey for me. Dropping the sale, but then offering free shipping (?) still wont convince me. To each their own. If it works for you and you dont mind dropping the money, I say go for it. I'll keep looking for a cheaper alternative I like better.

Yeah, I mean, I think it’s like any taco mod.... a mod is gonna be worth it to people who’ll use it for what it’s designed to do.

If you want pure strength and want to spend less money, if you don’t use your tailgate as a bench in the blazing sun you and don’t mind waiting 12 weeks, go with the Mobtown tailgate for $125 (which I seriously considered getting!)

After weighing the various tailgate options, Mountain Hatch seemed like the more reasonable one for me. I don’t load heavy duty equipment in and out of my bed like other people do, but I DO like to sit on the tailgate without toasting my buns and thighs on hot metal, and also set my cold beer down without it sliding off. And one of my favorite things to do is make large, ambitious meals out in the wild. :hungry:

Thankfully, there’s something different out there for everyone.

Yeah I would avoid these guys. Not happy with the product and the nonexistent customer service. Wish I would have given my money to a vendor who actually cares about their customers and stands behind their products. These guys do neither.

They had an idea (he said he came up with the idea when his daughter spilled juice on his tailgate), made a design, and had a company with the materials and equipment actually make them for them. Like a majority of the things we have in our trucks, or own in our homes. I'm pretty sure that most of the mods I have in my truck were not actually made by the company I bought them from. But I'm happy with the product, and I'm glad there are other options out there for those that this may not meet their needs.

Tried calling the numbers listed and got nothing. After 3 weeks of looking at the box in my closet I gave up today and installed the one they sent (wrong color/ they sent the black/white color core, truck is magnetic grey/ I ordered the charcoal). I can say the fit was perfect. As previously mentioned super easy install. Quality is good to go. Literally my only issue is they sent the wrong color (and more expensive according to their website??) product. I think it should have been a super easy return but whatever, already over it. Happy to hear the company is busy as I totally support the small start-up guys. BTW- if anyone knows these guys, I think a black/grey color core mix would be really nice and sell well for the magnetic grey and concrete colored trucks.

Lastly, super cool that more than a few of you tried to help me out. That makes me really appreciate this community. Thanks guys!

Glad you are happy with it. For what it's worth, whenever a company doesn't list their phone number, you can most times find the address listed on their site. When you google the company name and address you can usually get what I screen snipped for you above which usually has a phone number. Not saying the number is of any use if they don't answer it but it usually will at least get you one.
I can't stand when companies don't list phone numbers on their site!
