    Good day,
While researching bike racks that can withstand the rigors of 4 wheeling, I came across a guy with a 2” receiver integrated into the rear bumper on his Jeep. This is an awesome solution, as it increases the departure angle a lot without having to jack up the whole truck + gets the rack & bikes away from the ground. Is there something like this for 2nd gen Tacos?
    Thanks!

not for a stock bumper that I'm aware of. I have a Brute Force HC bumper and the hitch is hidden behind the license plate. Now, I do have dual swingouts so my bike rack is extended out farther to clear my tire, so it would probably still drag on some trails.

    Edit: pic for reference

That’s cool! I like how the hitch is hidden behind the plate most of the time. What bike rack is that, and how well does it work off-road?

I would highly recommend the 1up racks for offroad use! The rack is designed to step at a 15 degree rise so each bike sits slightly higher than the bike before it. This improves departure angle as well. The racks are made in the US (which does come with a price) but I have been using my rack for 2+ years and have no complaints. The way the bike is secured is more secure than the Yakima Hold Up pictured above as both wheels are physically clamped in place. Check out the link below for a bomber aluminum rack that rocks!

That’s the one I’ve been looking at a lot, so thanks for your upvote on it. Talking to their support line, they recommended the heavy duty. I see you chose the super duty. Reason?
I don’t expect to carry a bike over 50#, or more than 3 (access cab, so 2’s the current limit in the truck). ‍♂️

I have an SOS Off-Road Concepts high-clearance bumper with a tire swing. Had the local 4x4 shop weld a 2" receiver onto the swing away. Offers extreme departure angle clearance and has been awesome. I've loaded it was 4 bikes in the past, though typically just two and the swing away remains operational, so I can get in the back of my truck as needed.

Here's what mine looks like - it's an All Pro plate bumper with the hideaway hitch that's right under the license plate. It raises the receiver a good 6 inches at least - I use a 6 inch drop to bring the hitch ball down to the stock location. It would work really great for raising a bike rack's clearance, but your only option I know of would be aftermarket bumpers like this.

All good. Apparently the only difference is a metal bar under the trays, which can be had for $15/tray. The frames are the same.
