I bought the trail gear box kit in 2012 for my old tacoma, and the gaps were the same. I cut small tabs to fill in the gaps but it still didn't help much. On my current truck I used 1/8" plate and tacked it to the inside of the frame. Then ran my plasma along the top and bottom of the frame then used a grinder to clean up the edges till the whole thing sat nice and flush. Took me about 3 days to get the fitment damn near perfectly flush

Christ. Well maybe I’ll be doing something similar in the future. Just can’t believe they would be so off. It is what it is I guess.

DUDE! HUGE THANKS for sharing the parts list on that steering wheel setup. Always wanted to ditch my wheel with airbag, especially after now haha. I'm going to swoop that stuff up. Thank you Luke!!

absolutely dude. Just get that short hub and adapter and then any steering wheel with a six bolt pattern will work so you can shop around for whatever wheel you like.

it’s so nice to get ride of that gigantic Toyota steering wheel. So big. Felt like I was at the helm of a ship. This one is like 2” shorter in diameter. Much more comfortable

More pics from yesterday. Got everything welded. Made some bedside reinforcements with some bent flat bar from work. Pulled the cage and pulled the bed. Rerouted all the tail light wiring inside the frame with zip ties. Put the bed back on. Started painting the cage.

Gunna finish painting the cage today. Reinstall the cage and it should be done.
