Parking brake issue

    Searched on a whim and found this thread, replying because my truck is at a local shop getting the parking brake cable done right now. Pretty much the same truck, same issues almost exactly, although I reassembled the rear brakes and tried all the adjustments with absolutely no success, in fact I just let it be as I didn’t need to park on hills anywhere so just put it in gear, and I went from having somewhere around 20% parking brake to 0% over the next, ~20,000 miles (Yeah I’ve been putting it off for way too long ha ha)

    Dealership said there was cable hangup due to corrosion, recommended a replacement.
    @landphil I think you are correct (edit for clarification: I could not lock up the wheels via star wheel adjustment either, so I think they were never adjusting correctly because the cable was not returning)
