I too had a replace with a new Gates belt. The next winter started to make noise. After confirming that the idlers were ok. With stethoscope from HF. I then purchased a new belt from Stealership and that seemed to make the noise go away. No noise 3 months in.

Hmm wonder if an OEM belt is the way to go over the gates belt then?

I would, it was only like $12 difference. After researching I found that Bando was one of the best belts and that is who makes the belt for Toyota.

It’s not your belt. Tensioner may be going out or something pulley related.

If you need a pulley or tensioner, I just pulled a motor (spun bearing) and have easy access to the spare parts.

A non-OE tensioner was installed in 2013. Could it go that fast? I guess that was seven years ago now... It seems very tight. Maybe it's another pulley...

    What brand?

I had several of my idler pulleys go out over the course of a couple years. Like an idiot I replaced them one at a time.

the simplest thing is to take piece of tubing hold it in your ear and stick it (carefully) next to each pulley while the vehicle is running. You will quickly find the source if it’s a pulley.

if it’s not then the tensioner is a good place to start.
