Bodywork and paint continues to progress. My replacement bed has had a small dent repaired, sanded, and a coat of Raptor Liner. To use up the remainder of the liner that I had mixed, I also sprayed the hood. (I had prepped it just in case.) Next up will be swapping on the passenger doors from the Florida wreck.

The splotchiness is shadows, not variance in the color.

I have to track some axles down. Haven't gotten there yet. I'm not buying the pre modded ones, they're hilariously overpriced for the 8mins of machining done to them

Got the passenger side head on the spare motor down to the bare head.. going to have it decked just to be sure it’s true since the new gaskets are mls, the factory in 97 was not.
[IMG] Used the fancy valve tool that you smack with a hammer and it all pops apart and together, works amazingly well.[IMG]

    Update on yesterday's project:

Transmission is coming on nicely. The Federal Express dude never showed up at the door with Toyota order so still waiting on seals and stuff to button up the transmission. Got it all wire wheeled down and painted again (not that it will last, rocks & mud etc) and test fit my shifter base.

Had some fun along the way as is normal with this stuff. Came from E-Bay with a broken bolt in the bell housing and the pins from the back of the motor stuck in it... Luckily the bell housing bolts all came loose. Broke everything free to make sure all was good. Drilled out the broken bolt and used a torch, vice grips and penetrating oil to get the stuck pins out.

Hope today stuff arrives from Toyota so I can finish this up. Loads more still to do...

Just a front one yea. Its a 3/16'' piece of steel. Not running full skids. I got it for less that $200 I think because the TRD was cut out backwards. I had to heavily modify it as well.

Today I replaced my front left caliper, and both rotors and pads. They were sticking, causing warped rotors. Before today, I experienced shaking when i braked. Thanks to the new caliper, that’s gone. However, i now experience a decent amount of shake between 50 and 60mph, which absolutely hasn’t happened before. I’m pretty obsessive about my truck so I’m certain. I checked lugs everywhere twice. Same tires, same wheels, no rotation, no other changes. My buddy says its a wheel balance issue, but all the weights are still there. Any ideas on what it could be? It’s making me paranoid here lol
