Thanks for the info, I’ll order that cable and openport 2.0 immediately. Once those arrive I’ll order VFTune and the tune packs.

Thanks, I’ll be flashing as is. I don’t have time to tinker with it and I don’t possess the knowledge or experience to either.

I didn’t realize the tune pack included the “2.0 final” that I’ve seen talked about over the last couple months.

Redline custom leather shift and e-brake boot. VFTUNE Super Full Otto cycle, octane learning, premium fuel.
I think all the MT trucks are final. Even if it is a beta for your ecu and your truck you still have access to the other tunes old and new as they come out for your particular ecu.

That is odd. You might want to write that up and get it over to OVT.

Will do. I'll get some screen shots. Does the premium tune feel much different? Can i run regular gas with the premium or do i risk spark knock or something? I know they say octane learning so i didnt know if i had to run 91 all the time with the premium tune vs the regular tune?

It's best to run 87-89 on regular tune, and 91-93 on premium.

I can’t wait to tune my truck. I’ve been hearing detonation during the hotter weather with the stock engine and even 89 octane mid-grade fuel.

Thanks! Can you feel a definite difference between the two?

These are OL tunes. Any fuel is fine. I have only ran the 2.0 Prem tunes on both 87 and 92.

Yes. The power bumps come with high octane. You'll see that in the old OVT posts with dyno charts.

Ok, sorry, I seem to be an idiot, or at least quite confused. So, the download(s) in vF are the tune packs, right? For example, I have a 2017 04B04 AT and can download a file from vF. But that says STOCK. I haven't really seen anyone talking about 04B04 AT (MT, and newer trucks only), although I'll admit I haven't read through every single page on this thread, but a lot of them. So, is that 04B04 file the Toyota stock tune, or is it OV's special sauce?

All I want to do is add the alternator changes to my current tune. But I can't achieve that from a stock tune file, and if there's a way to get the OV tune file for 04B04 into vF, I haven't found out how. Late to the party, here, so sorry if this has been covered and my ineptness at searching hasn't turned up a clear answer, because I only find something related to this question with newer ECU's yet nothing mentions the vF tune download saying STOCK.

if you owned a flash kit originally, you can request an older tune file be converted to VFT for you.
If not, you can do this as soon as we release 2.0 final on VFT for Autos

The prem FOB OL tune flashed perfectly the second time. Now i just have to finish my adm and i'm going to go let it rip and put some premium fuel in it. :burnrubber:

So coming from OVTune, once software is setup, just email in for the tune packs?

I just got my hacked accumulator back on the truck and was ripping up and down the road with the premium fob OL tune for 04B90 6MT. It definitely makes the truck smoother, more responsive, and way more fun to drive. We have some very fun mountain roads in north GA. I have to take my truck through some on monday for my 5K check up.

If i had bought this truck before the ADM and Ovtune were around, i don't think i would've kept it very long.

    Appreciate any help:

Former Flash Kit owner with 1.04 installed since early 2019 but my old laptop with Flash Kit program and tunes was lost.

Recently purchased vF tuner which I downloaded on new computer. I emailed Mat new system ID from my new laptop and he emailed me back registry file.

However, I went to pull the ECU ID off my truck per vF instructions but wasn't able to get the "Toyota Flash Tool" button from the vF tuner program to work (window did not open) so I ended up downloading the old Flash Manager program (link found in OVT's Flash Manager Instructions) and used it to access the ECU ID with Tactrix cable to email Mat.

Should I only need the vF Tuner program loaded in order to access the ECU ID with Tactrix cable or was I correct in downloading the Flash Manager and cable drivers?

Just trying to get vF Tuner up and running and not a windows/PC guy or computer savvy.

Thanks for any input or advice.

You might not have had the tactrix driver loaded, or your antivirus may have quarantined the program. Now that you have the old flash manager loaded, try accessing the flash tool in vFtuner to see if it works now.
