UPDATE 10/20/2024: Gentex Homelink Mirrors w/Blue Compass & Backlit Buttons for 2016-23 Tacoma

Got the adapter harness today and that indeed solved my issue!

If you're on the fence on this, I can't recommend Bob enough. Bob has gone above and beyond helping me troubleshoot my issue! I'll definitely use Bob again for anything I can

 

Just thought I'd reply to this thread to send everyone an update...we're still here & still selling mirrors amidst this covid-craziness! Hoping everyone is able to stay safe, healthy & sane during these times!

 

Can confirm, just brought two mirrors, one for myself and one for my brother in a different state. Bob was super helpful, pointed me in the right direction for an extra part I didn’t realize my brother would need, and even gave me a discount for buying two mirrors. Both showed up in just a couple of days.

Quick question. I have a 2018 off-road and the back of my mirror has a 12 pin connection. I have been looking at adding a dash cam that will use that 12 pin connection for power. Do the mirrors you sell have the 12 pin connection on the back too? Thanks.

Correct...the Homelink V4 and V5 mirrors with blue compass & blue backlit buttons we have available have the 12 pin connector on the back. Now with that said, some of the other mirror options we also have available do not, but for the mirrors that do not have the 12 pin connector on the back, an adapter harness is included that has the appropriate mirror connector on one end, and the male 12 pin connector on the other end, so even in these situations, the USB power adapter will still work, as you would simply plug it into the 12 pin connector on the end of the adapter harness.

 

I need some HELP and perhaps some of you can assist.
I have a gentex homelink purchased 2 years ago for my 2018 Tacoma Trd Sport. I ended up selling the truck 3 weeks ago to purchase a 2020 Tacoma Sport. I removed the mirror to reinstall it to my new truck. The compass and dimming is working fine but the homelink to open/close the garage is not working. The green light is always on and does not turn red even if I press down the outer buttons to reset the mirror for 20sec. I tried to browse as much as possible but can’t find a suitable solution. Any help I can get from someone would be appreciated.
I did email and text Bob but no response as of yet. Below is the exact mirror I have.

A huge shout-out to Bob @RJP869 I received my plug and play harness yesterday for my gentex mirror and now im able to use my garage opener again on my new Tacoma 2020!!!

Really like the Gentex mirror. Received it on Friday, installed on Monday. I had an issue with the homelink option but after a couple E-Mails back and forth to Bob, the problem was resolved and the problem was me. A little brain fog.

Great product. Fairly easy to install. The most time consuming part is pulling the wires for the temperature probe. GREAT customer service. I am very happy with my purchase. Anyone who is in the market for a Gentex mirror that displays outside temperature, has a compass and is homelink capable, contact Bob @RJP869.

 

Hi, I just bought a gentex auto-dim mirror with compass and temp on eBay, to replace the manual mirror on my2015 Tacoma Pro. My pro has a 14-pin plug up above the console, but the mirror I bought has 4 wires, red and black, and then a green and black going to the temp sensor. The 14 pin has 3 wires going into it, red, green, and white with black stripe. Does anyone know which would be the power and ground?

 

Do any other Toyota’s come with the 12 pin homelink mirror ? My wife’s Camry has one and I was wondering if hers would swap to mine , 2019 Camry and 2020 tacoma

 

@caribe makaira will likely have a real answer for you. If you have a multimeter you can answer for yourself. I would assume red is +12v, black w white is ground and green is parking lights.

 

Nice improvement... Silly that this wasn't standard for the 2019 TRD premium off-road package?

The install was easy once I figured out the wiring covering was just adjustable plastic.
