I have a 2013 Tacoma, (4 door short bed), and just to the right of the steering column, right above my right knee, I have an open area... a little sort of storage thing... not sure what you would call it.. a little cubby kind of thing?

at any rate, do you fellas know of any kind of aftermarket replacement for this? I want to take advantage of the space, I just need it to be a little deeper? and maybe with a lid to 'close' it...I like the idea of keeping a piece in there, but one that can't be seen...

It’s where the ‘cane’ handle emergency brake is located.

Since yours is an automatic and the emergency brake is a petal, they fill the cane handle space as a cute little cubby.

It’s where you put spare change for your crack dealer. Most crack dealers don’t give change so you need to provide them with exact payment

same, and I mounted the attenuator for my sub there.

Just so happens I had to mess around with that cubby yesterday, needed to get behind it. It has 4 'posts' that simply expand to click into the panel behind it. When you pull it straight forward, it will eventually give without doing damage, and reveal a cutaway opening. with the female openings for the four posts perimeter to the opening. Hope that makes sense. Seems to me if you're crafty, or know a 3D printer dude, you could make just about anything and incorporate the same 4 post back onto anything and have it pop on there. wouldn't hold a ton of weight, but some. A piece would probably challenge the strength of the friction fit, but it's easy access, you could possibly yuse those four holes and fashion some other sort of retention system. Zip ties? I dunno.

And thinking about just taking the damn coin holder out altogether and mounting it above...but I dunno. Looks like shit right now because it's not attached completely. (see right side of coin thing)
