New to gen 3, spent lotsa work miles in gen 2, 386k. Just bought a 2020 SR5 Dbl Cab, 3.5L, 6'bed. Had a decent UWS deep dish cross-mount toolbox in the gen 2, I have to carry a good bunch of tools for work. Does anybody have any recommendations on tool boxes?? I left the old one in place for my son. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I often have to carry pumps and plate tamps. A tonneau with drawers would be great for the room but need some open bed. I bought the longer bed truck. I've never looked at the Weatherguard boxes, I'll have to get out the tape measure and see what fits, Thanks for the ideas

On my work Tundra, short bed big mistake, I have a Weatherguard deep box. Good box but I carry a lot of bulky items. The box takes up a lot of room.

If I had to do it over again I’d go with a narrower box but still deep or deeper.

But that’s a work truck. On my Tacoma I’m putting in swing cases. I don’t loose bed length and the area between the wheel well and the tailgate is well used.

Thats what i love about my long bed. Still plenty of useable bed space.

You might look at the Diamondback covers. They are pretty slick and you can customize with added bins and other accessories. Also the doors or lids whatever you wanna call them open up on struts that you can take off and then flip the lid down on top of the other one if you need to carry taller things. Check them out

Weatherguard makes a good one. Almost bought one before adding the tonneau cover
