I got the email a couple weeks ago. It's definitely a good idea. Especially for those that have no GPS or have a really outdated one.

It'd be nice if you could also hook up the laser shifters to this thing (like the ones from the 9500ci). :D

Actually, you can hook up the laser shifters.

What is a laser shifter? How does this compare to a Valentine 1?

Okay, A laser shifter jams laser. The only way to protect against laser is to jam it. A valentine1 or a passport will not protect you against laser, they will only let you know that you are being hit. Once your hit, they've got your speed. On rare occasion i will pick up laser from the car in front of me being hit before i, myself, get hit with laser. I use a valentine 1 and i love it, the arrows really make a difference and it picks up cops over 2 minutes away when i'm on the highway. It is just phenominal.

Back to the iQ, it looks neat but not sure if i would personally trust it. I've tried apps like this for my iphone before and all they ever say is that every u-turn is a spot for cops to hit and they've been very annoying. looks like it just has too much going on for it to be accurate with everything. I'll stick with my V1, it may only do one thing and thats detect radar and laser (notice i said detect laser, not block it) but it does it better than anyone else.

I sent an email to Passport to get an official answer from them, but it's been over a week and no reply yet. Good to know that there is hope in sight.

My only reservation is the fact that this is a first run of a new concept...so how buggy is it going to be? I guess we'll see...
