Time kills cars faster than miles. I would rather buy a 2014 that was a salesmans car with 150k on it than grandmas 06 with 15k on it.

I'm going for 1 million miles on mine; I drive 25k miles a year so it'll take me about 40 years to get there lol. Anyways Mileage isn't a problem if the vehicle is well maintained; oil changes, fluid changes when needed. It should last forever.

Dammit I wish they kept the first gens. But I agree mileage is mainly how it was maintained. I bought a land cruiser with 250k two owner and a mound of paperwork from all the service. Threw them cash and sped off. No issues and it's still running good.

Completely agree. Got my wife's 2012 DCSB 4x4 sr5 for 18500 at 145k miles last month. 1 owner. 26 service records. 3 years at dealer and 1 year at jiffy lube. Dealer said it was the most service records it's seen on a vehicle in long time.

Bought my 2012 DCLB 4x4 back in early March of this year with 49K miles for $26K out the door. Came with a lift and wheels and had all major recalls/tsb's done. Frame was near perfect. I got lucky with this one. It was sitting on the lot for 2 weeks and I was surprised no one bought it. Once I changed all the fluids, it was like a new truck.

I bought a 2012 Access cab 6SPD MT 4.0 TRD offroad for $23.5k with 56k miles in december 2016 and I feel I got a fantastic deal. I changed all fluids, plugs, and filters after I got it and I feel the truck drives like new after 10k of hard miles (White Rim trail, Elephant hill, Poison springs, Flint trail, e.t.c.) across the intermountain west. I took a couple hours negotiating but I got exactly what I wanted for a price I felt fair. This car will be with me till the day it dies, or I die (I am 21).
I drove a 2000 4runner to 270k in highschool with literally zero problems (except those done by my stupid teenage self) till my little brother took it over, I have been forever sold on Toyota ever since, he stills drive it btw (312k). No stock vehicle can compare, capable on any mild to difficult trail, gets me up to the ski hill, can hold my gear, reliable as hell, and it just makes me so damn happy being confident in whatever I throw towards it. I think that stock family 4runnner has done plenty gnarlier things than most jeeps that cruise main street in Moab. Toyota family forever.

If it's a one owner, with a perfect verifiable service history, super clean, rust free and has no mechanical problems I wouldn't put any mileage restrictions on my purchase decision.

I bought a 05 double cab long bed 4x4 SR5 at 110k. Tomorrow on my way to work I'll cross 200k. This is my daily driver and after doing the math I've driven it an average of 2,647 miles a month. I also keep track of gas intake and miles driven between fill ups I average 22/23 mpgs I can get 24 when I straight grandma the truck. Less when I need to pass multiple people on the way to work.
No major issues other than the wheel bearing going out. Regular oil changes with Mobile 1. Spark plugs ever 30k. New filters when I remember.

My 2009 Tacoma 4x4 with 477,000 kms! Still runs like a top, will need a new power steering rack soon, no other issues.

I'm amazed at all the low mileage I see, and am shocked that 100,000 or even 200,000. is a reason for concern, as around here (Edmonton, Canada) when I was looking about 8 months ago 05-09 Tacoma's ranged from 300,000 to 420,000 kms or 200,000 miles to just about 300,000 miles and the prices averaged 10,000 to 15,000 for them. any truck around here with less than 100,000 miles is considered low mileage, and will fetch top dollar.
I paid 8k for my 300,000 km 2005 Tacoma, and mileage does not worry me. it has a new frame no rust on body, and I've done all the maint/repairs, what ever breaks I'll fix, its all perspective, I owned a Ram diesel for past 10 yrs and only put 150,000 kms on it, so realistically in another 10yrs I might make 450,000 kms on my Tacoma, which from what I've seen should not be a problem.
    yep I've drunk the kool-aid
around here finding used a Tacoma is near impossible as no one sells them, and when they do they are 10-15 yrs old and only had one or 2 owners, cant say that for ford, chev, dodge or even other import vehs.
just my thought, if you start off with a body/frame that are in good shape the power train will keep up, mileage not really an issue (excluding brakes/alternator/fuel pump)

Last year I bought a real pretty 05 with 218,000 miles, but sadly, the dealer ended up buying it back because the frame was about to break in half! My 03 Taco which is my first truck has a new frame and 277,000 miles. I recently bought a 98 Dodge Ram that now has just over 42,000!637091597796090290.jpg IMG_5061.jpg

Bought my 07 with 216k. 2 owners, the guy who bought it new,ran it for a few months and the guy who had it for almost 12 years.

Tons of new parts when the frame recall happened. Found an oil change history when I brought it to Valvoline once. The guy was religious about oil changes.

The truck runs like a top. I'm at 245k right now and I plan on getting another 250k. If it dies, I'll just throw another 4cyl in, or find a wrecked 6cyl and swap it
