You missed a fun night by the fire. We made the best out of a wet situation.

Im hoping to do some MTB trips once it starts cooling off. Just weekend stuff. Gunna get some stuff for solo camping so i dont have to drag the trailer everywhere as well. A small water proof tent and a camping pad and ill be good to go.

I didn't have a rain jacket. I don't enjoy being wet and cold.

    Yes
And these are open for us to use given proper training? Or other people work on your vehicle?

I've got both in stock brother! Sounds good, not a rush at all, I'll hold one of each aside for ya for when you decide!

No worries man. I appreciate the suggestions and offer, very kind of you! I ended up staying in Monte Sanos at one of their primitive sites. Surprised at the steep cost of $22 for the primitive site that had zero amenities... a cool park for sure, but the camping their was super meh.

    IMG_9353.jpg IMG_9358.jpg
Visited Little River Canyon State Park on the way back, that was neat! Easily accessible, so super crowdedIMG_9367.jpg IMG_9372.jpg IMG_9370.jpg .

yes you can be trained to use the lifts yourself at the shop on the Arsenal.

I didn't know the cost of camping at monte sano but 22$ is nuts, I agree. It's a good park for hiking/biking, but the camping is just like you said "meh"

Heck yes I am so in.

Yeah, def excited for the trails, might have to invest in a mtb when I move... and some sort of flotation apparatus for the river

what are your thoughts on the housing market in the area? I’m undecided on whether I should buy now, or wait a few months and rent a room/apartment/townhome to get a feel for the area...

Edit *this will be my first time buying a home*

the housing market is HOT if you're selling, not if you're buying. I'm rarely/never a supporter of renting (tossing away money), but there is so little available right now that might be the best/better option rather than buying something overpriced that isn't worth it. I mean houses are selling for 20-30k more than they would have 2 years ago.

    Yes
those are my same exact thoughts as far as renting... just don’t wanna put myself in a bind on accident. I feel like it would be a solid investment with the FBI moving a location here and Toyota building a plant there... so many options.

oh it's solid, I don't know if prices will go down. Hopefully selling my house next year which gets me excited for profits...but that also means buying...which means paying more for something else haha

@stronghammer is right. Just ask @Jerneyman who moved last month after months of trying. I moved last summer and make 40k on my little starter home. Sold it in 4 days for full asking price which was way more than I ever thought. Even during the lockdown, HSV houses are hot. They are building 2 new subdivisions out near me right now. I suggest short term rental to get a feel for the area before buying.

yep...I bought my house expecting to put 50-60k in it and make 20-30k profit on that....but looks like I'll be able to make 50-60k profit if market stays how it is.

why you selling? Staying in the area? Good to know it’s solid, that inspires some confidence in that option
