Doesn't even have to be "thin". A good SAE 50 synthetic oil will still pour at -65*! (I've tested it in MN.)

For other threads --- mine is a '17 made in TX and still orig battery with whole life in GA.

If it’s any help our first summer here with Vegas heat killed both my taco battery and my civic battery the same summer. Batteries were 3 and 4 years old.

I have the O'Reillys Extreme Start, never did my battery homework. These things suck. I know have a jump pack and NOCO5 charger in my truck. Next battery is going to be something else.

my truck is going on 4 years with the stock battery. No issues. All depends on the extreme weather conditions you live in as well.

In month 1 I replaced it with an Odyssey AGM and sprayed the terminals with Fluid Film. Zero issues.

I’m done with lead acid for life.

What! You bought a superior product and properly installed it. Are you trying to shame the whiners who neglect equipment and still expect it to last longer than the manufacturer designed it to.

My truck is at the dealer again for a dead battery. Let it sit for one day without starting, like 30 hours and dead. Left me stranded again. This will be like the 4/5th in 22 months. I’ve lost track. This was the voltage this morn when I tried to go to work.

    I know, bizarre idea.

I prefer to look at maintenance and preventative maintenance as the car breaking when it is convenient to me instead of not.

So, when I test my gate opener battery, it reads 12.57 volts for like 2 seconds, then goes to 1. Bad battery cell?

South Louisiana is pretty hot. It shouldn't kill a battery after two years though.
