Just bought a 2008 tacoma prerunner. The previous owner had done some modifications to it and i can't figure out what this does? Its located in the upper left corner of the windshield and has a cable running along the headliner. If you look closely it has an omega symbol on it if that helps any. It also had a cheap Chinese aftermarket bluetooth module in it, could it be related to that?

It appears to be an antenna for a remote start/alarm system. Wife has something similar looking in that spot for her viper remote start.

    Could be a remote start

I’m not 100% sure but I think only 2 way alarm systems have those. I can’t remember if my 1 way system had it there but after I got a 2 way I noticed it

My wife's viper is a 1-way and has an almost identical antenna there.

It’s called a windshield. Most vehicles have them now, they’re there to protect you against flying rocks and debris while you’re driving.
