Hi I have been reading through the tire info in here and have yet to find an answer. I purchased a 2020 Trd off road with an upgraded rim and tire combo off the showroom floor. Just signed the paper yesterday and they are prepping the truck Tuesday. I missed a detail when looking at the truck and found it in the photos I took today while obsessing. They have put trd 17 inch rims on it with 235/70-r17 k02s. This makes the combo smaller than stock (for both Off-road and sport) according to the online wheel comparison Calculator. I contacted them and the sales guy said this was how service does it usually. But I can’t see any one on here that has gone with smaller tires!!! Should I push for a 265/65-17 or a 255/70-17. According to the calculator they are closest to stock. Or is a 235 common Thoughts and thanks.

I doubt that's how service usually does it. They probably just had those tires sitting around. Smaller tires aren't an upgrade in my opinion. Good luck OP.

    Welcome!

    Salesmen know less that nothing.
Don't talk to him, go talk to the manager and get the right tires.
If he gives you problems, talk to corporate.

    Good Luck

    Go for 265 70 17 or 255 80 17
    The 235s will look bad

We need details on this tire combo you bought off the show room. Did you buy wrong size tires or did they install the wrong ones?

@Sep1911 the truck was already set up with the tires in the show room. I test drove a different truck. I liked the color of the one in the show room and the look of the blacked out rims so I went for it . When in the office they added a premium to the total for the “upgraded” rims and tires. I assumed that they would have at least been a stock size or bigger. They only have my deposit as of now.

The KO2 is not available in a 235/70R17.

    They are probably 285/70R17.

The size is hard to see but what is clearly visible is 112/109S. According to Tire rack that's a 265/70/17 in a C load.

That's a lot more tire than a 235 in the wheel well.

265/70 are 31" roughly. You should have no problems stock height with those tires. Nice truck!

I would talk to management and play it as a safety issue. 30mm narrower won’t stop as well, plus every weight rating Toyota has speced for these trucks is based off the tire size on the door sill
