Unless you live in an area where all the old-timer retirees who finally splurged on a big truck or home contractor "business owners" are trying to outdo each other with the latest F150/F250, Silverado, or Ram is factoring into the decision... (welcome to Northern NJ), the Tacoma size is plenty of truck. One really needs to be at the home center multiple times in a week purchasing 4'x8' sheets for a large worktruck to be justified. Otherwise it really is just a splurge to have a bigger vehicle than most others.

So they don't just want a big truck for themselves. They're doing it only to impress others ???o_O

I'm in a similar situation, I'm wanting a tundra, but I think a sequoia would be a better choice for me. I only have one kid but want more. Pretty much a tundra but a SUV version.

My wife have always hinted me to upgrade to a Tundra but not being able to fit comfortably in the garage like my Tacoma along with having no truck payments usually nixed that idea. I would try a different approach and convince her to buy one for herself. Then you can reap the rewards of driving both Tacoma and Tundra.

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
Well, no talking me out of it. After the salesman didn't respond for a few weeks, I contacted his manager. They accepted my (low) offer, and also my trade allowance was appropriate. I actually felt guilty as I feel like I stole it. Clayed, waxed, cleaned, steps, oil change, used tonneau for now, and adding my own touches. I am very happy, although I was a bit hesitant. MPG on the first tank was EXACTLY what I was getting in the Taco, 15.6. And I gotta a atta boy from the wifey on Saturday, as she had a chance to drive it. Looking forward to towing with it, and removing some of the chrome... :puke:
