Any issues fitting with a CBI front skid?

I wouldn't know they don't interfere with our skids if the factory hook works with the CBI skid ours will fit.

Yup, they are snatch straps. One was used to pull out a fence post on the farm a few years ago. BIG mistake. Shot that sucker about 100 yards when if finally came out. Would have been a killer had someone been in the way. Stupid games, stupid prizes.

From what I can tell, the biggest difference with aftermarket is replacing the open hook with a closed loop that can accept a shackle.

    That ARB is awesome tho

I bought demon mounts and some shackles. Demon mounts from here:
    https://amistyling.com/demon-brackets-toyota-9-19-tacoma

They seem to be solid. Haven't had to use them, yet.

I like those! I think I may get a set of them. What do those attach to?

Can you also link me to the red shackles you got with those?

They attach to the cross member that the factory hooks are on. Reuses their bolts. I got these shackles:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NMTVDNH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I did have to do a little trimming of the nylon washers that came with the shackles. I used a knife to trim. They fit tight on the demon mounts with the washers. But the washers keep things from "clanking."

Thanks Brownie Man! After having them how do they hold up to weather? Any surface rust or anything?

They have been installed since May 12th. No rust that I have seen. Powder coat seems to be holding up.

    I want to try this:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcskAyeCE1A

A friend needs to replace some of his fence and I keep offering to help out.

I dug out a few fence posts by hand a long time ago. It was not fun. Even tried to get a wiggle going with our car at the time. It is amazing how much strength is there, something like 300psf for typical soil, IIRC?

I really want to like those. The price is right and the loads go into direct shear. It would be great to hear more about them in action. Otherwise, a stealthy painted ARB would be my second choice.

A friend and I used the stock drivers side loop, an HF strap and shackle, a Vault receiver shackle, some X-Bull boards, and a real gentle pull to get me out of some deep wet snow up to the frame and beyond a few weeks back after a bit shoveling to smooth the way and getting his Bronco going also. It is just a matter of having enough of the right stuff on hand.

Frankly, I like those even better than our BP Fab hook. Higher clearance, and they're cheaper, too, especially since you get one per side and not just a single recovery point.

I agree, two recovery points that is direct bolt on for sub-$100, that's a great deal IMO.

You don't have to worry about purchasing a $1000 after market bumper, cutting the bumper and fenders, just to put some shackles in.

    Exactly.

IMO there are two kinds of stuck for the most non-hardcore folks. Buried in mud and everything else. I'm looking for that everything else solution. :D

OH NO HE USED A CHAIN!!!! He could have died you should never safely use a chain to pull anything. You should always use a strap. Chains always break catastrophically..... I have never had a chain explode when used for smooth pulls. Never shock load a chain.

Hahaha! That is the beauty of that method, IMHO. Just an easy pull and no fight.

I ended up buying the red shackles and the demon brackets. They should be here by the weekend! I can't wait to install them.
