I'm trying to figure out what the steering wheel voice button does on the 2020 taco.

Is it just for the entune system that I don't use because Android Auto is dramatically better?

Why is there an AA button on the screen that handles voice commands just fine, but the steering wheel button is always confused? Anyway it can be re-mapped to google instead?

I must be doing something wrong.

I wish the "map" button on the radio would direct to the active AA/CarPlay map when applicable. Menu/android auto to bring up waze/Google maps gets annoying. Not because poor-me has to click a second button, it's just so close to perfect.

Take time and go through the manual about your radio. There's a complete separate manual for a reason. People love to hate on the radio but I got it to run AA from the factory and with all the settings done how I like them, I'm content with the radio. Combined with the focals, kicker keys and kicker sub, I'm very happy. :headbang:

I mostly use that mic button for "tune to preset one" when I'm too lazy/occupied with traffic to diddle with the radio buttons. I need to try its commands with spotify, etc for science. I'm not the type to talk to myself or my truck so I don't use voice commands too much.

After I plug in my new phone it connects automatically.

Then the map button brings up google maps.

Then I can click the spotify logo on the maps screen and go into the spotify app which is far better than the Toyota screen.

I guess I should look in the glove box for the first time.

Mainly just basic commands. I use it to make calls and that's about it.
