Did some quick math, but your 285's are only 6 lbs lighter than my 35's.
Ran the big dirty dicks for that reason.

    Is he new?

An auto with 34s? 5.29s would be your friend.

I've heard good things about 515 Motorsport in Liberty. Maybe give them a call about it. My neighbor has used them for things on this Jetta and 3rd gen 4Runner and has nothing but great things to say.

You adding a locker at the same time?

If you are going anything beyond stock tires in the auto, you want 5.29s

They know what they are doing. Known the owner for about 25 years. Gears and locker on DP were done there....

Are they good at 2nd gen Taco transmission?

Noone replied to my email from Toytec or wherever you suggested. I'm getting really frustrated with the issues again. Gonna try emailing Toyota dealerships, maybe.

I accidentally drained a bit of ATF last year, ever since, I feel "clunk" when I stop or go. Took to Valv shop to have them refill, but pretty sure they were completely clueless. I tried to do it myself with the DIY thread and drained what I think was overfilled by the Valv shop, and thought I fixed it, but still experiencing it.

I'm sure Rich would have access to one. And there are scales at the truck stop right in town.

probably still low. you've got to overfill it by like a quart then drain it down to spec when its the temp to check (i think its 100-115, or just jump the pins and put it in check mode). My dads truck had a clunk and after a drain and fill, its been totally gone.

Actually. This would be a good recommendation because he drove my truck and had a 2016 auto.

4.88’s would be good on 34’s with no armor. But you couldn’t have any more weight.

    Yep, that's what I did.

I drained it to a trickle as it said, but it didn't really specify what a trickle is, so I did what appeared to be correct. I'm thinking about just draining it and refilling it all to start over.

not sure what Toytec would have anything to do with the transmission, there are suspension company.

But yeah, just drain and refill. Get the good stuff.

thanks for the replies everyone - sounds like 5.29 is going to be the best bet. I will prob add a hybrid bumper and some underbody protection. I have an 18ft boat that I may tow from time to time when my wife needs her SUV so that may actually seal the deal on its own there thinking about that.

just a couple of things tbh
You would have to be way more man unless you have aluminum for everything because I think I’m over that on weight
