Decked to tall?

Looking to buy a used decked for my 19 long bed. I’ll be putting an atv on top of it from time to time. Would that still work or is it to tall?

 

id be more worried about the weight than the height

 

I'd rather use the trailer in your pic.

 

Trailer will have one on it then putting another in the bed

 

Atv only weighs 550

 

That Decked system claims to be able to hold 2000 pounds on it. So as long as your quad weighs under that you should be fine. Those systems are also 12" tall. So add a foot to your quad and that's what to expect.

 

Ya , I’d just like to see how that looks. Going to be traveling 1200 miles with it like that so hoping it’s be ok

 

I’d be more concerned about the total weight on the rear: 200lbs for the decked, 550lbs for the quad, plus the tongue weight (300ish?) of the trailer you are towing.

I’m sure you can do it, but I would certainly look into airbags for the rear.

 

Payload is like 1600 right ? If it’s somewhere near there shouldn’t be a issue. Eventually I’m getting heavy duty leaf packs for it

 

I'm seeing like 1175 lbs max payload. So, you and all passengers, any armor, tank of gas, all your gear, the decked, tongue weight, beer, and your ATV. No way you will be under the max - if it mattered, like a weight station or an accident. Honestly, all that and towing a trailer with another ATV on the 2.7 might be a long trip.

Conflicting all over. Weird. My computer wigged out there for a minute trying to copy all the screen shots.

 

There shouldn't be any issues at all. Like everyone mentioned our system is 12" tall so you will lose access to your factory tie-downs in the back but should still get them up front. If you have a bed-rail tie down system then you should be good to go. There will be absolutely no problem holding the weight back there and the drawers will still slide like butter on a hot knife.
