are those real emblems, or are they the black accy overlays, that would go over an existing emblem? seems there are a couple variables. thank you for the heads up, and info. Ski

i can assure they are the real mccoys. i get where youre coming from too cause even toyota calls them overlays on the dealership pages lol. i was a bit apprehensive about that cause i woulda been pissed if they came in and were just caps. good thing though, when i did recieve them i cross referenced them with my own sequoia and they look exactly the same. the pic below shows that they are indeed emblems and not just caps as shown by the full coverage and adhesive on the rear of the emblems.

yup. fishing line or dental floss works. just work it a back and forth motion (or up and down depending how you look at it) and finagle those puppies off. goo gone takes the residual off then clean with whatever your preferred method is. did that just yesterday with the tacoma and v6 emblems.

Just removed them. Some elbow grease and goof off, no big deal. Thanks for the input.

I think there was a little confusion because the post started out asking about the decals / stickers on the side of the truck and then morphed into a discussion about the emblems (Tacoma, 4X4, etc.).

My post for example was about removing the stickers which I found ugly (but that is just my own personal opinion and I could also see how people would like them). My next project is to cover the overlays with the Toyota OEM blackout emblems. Totally agree with you that if you were taking off emblems you would use fishing line (or dental floss). I don't think you could get those off with a finger nail ... :)

Took my decals off, along with the black stuff between the windows.

Nice!! Looks WAYYYYY better! I need to get to the black vinyl between the windows. Sadly there is not a plug close enough to my car port for me to plug a heat gun into

I drove home from the dealer and peeled them off as soon as i got in the driveway. I used some fishing line and my wifes hair dryer to pry them off and buff off the residue with goo gone and 50/50 iso alcohol/water. I also removed the black film strip decal on the vertical area on the rear of the driver door and front of the rear door.

Just keep in mind if you remove everything it will resemble an SR, and it will look cheaper. Some may not care, and I've done at least partial debadging on all 28 of my cars. I like plain and stealth. My SR is the 1st vehicle I've owned that was Debadged from the factory.

Let it sit in the sun for a few hours and they come right off. I took mine off after owning the truck for six months and like it a lot better without the stickers.

I de-badged the tailgate, peeled the bed stickers off and unwrapped the b pillars. I’m stoked on how it cleans up the truck!
