Personally I wound replace the seal. All it takes is a small scratch and it will start Leaking. To install the seal easy, get a 2” pvc end cap from Home Depot/Lowe’s for ~$1

    don’t grind down the tool!!
It’s tight getting it in but makes pulling the bushing out easier and it has a better grip.

before ya put the tool in, stuff a clean plastic bag in that way the tool doesn't drop into the diff.

set the bottom in and using a large blunt tip flat head screwdriver tap the top in till it sits behind the bushing. When you get ready to pull it out, make sure you rotate it ~90* so your pulling on a flat even spot

As far as the seal, I meant I don't know if my seal is bad or not. I've got 125K on the truck so I figured I might as well replace it.
I was just gonna follow this video.

That video is on a different vehicle,
Removing the sway bar from the steering knuckle and the 2 lbj bolts then the whole brake can swing forward out of the way.

I'm really flying blind here. Do you by chance have a vid that you would follow? The guys that are helping with the lift/bushing install have done this before. I just like to have a little knowledge of what I'm getting into :D

I don’t have a video, it’s more of muscle memory Since we’ve done 30+ bushing

I'm sure the guys that will be doing it are more than capable. I just have no clue when it comes to stuff like this. I'll just keep watching vids.

You have to grind it to get it in behind the needle bearing. For just the seal, sure it'll work as is.

I run Mobil 1 in the engine. I change every 5K. It just makes it easier for me to keep up with

Quick update. I have everything needed for the lift install.
I bought Lucas 85w-140 for the axles, a set of ratcheting wrenches for the ECGS tool, race bearing kit, and spring compressor kit.

Return that spring compressor, there junk. (Don’t fit our springs and are death traps)
Also you can rent that and the drivers from the part store

    Yep. Lose that compressor.
If it would have came with 3 clamps I would allow it. The retards deleted 1 clamp years ago to make you buy another set for it to be safe to use.

It’s easy and a lot safer to assemble them on the truck with a floor jack

Just borrow a good set form the parts store of your choice. No sense in keeping a tool around that will get such rare use.

No doubt. I don't mind doing the work, I'm just not an experienced person(and don't know if the guys helping have ever done the floor jack way). I usually just do basic maintenance stuff.

I think my best bet may be to just rent one from a parts store.

You have one hell of an advantage that I never had. You got YouTube vids to refer to get you pointed in the right direction. You can do this.
