    Hey all!

Acquired my first Tacoma over the weekend and love every bit of it (except the stock gearing)! Big plans for it, as building a modest "overlanding" rig of some sorts to go camping on a regular basis out here in the desert! Absolutely hate chrome so the future plans will include a lot of deletes! Been in the sports car and high end truck area, but realizing the folly of my ways, finally got a tacoma! Definitely looking for advice and build tips. I have a ton that I want to do, and do quickly, so if you know recommended or improved solutions to the below, let me know, as ya'll are definitely the bigger experts! Looking to learn and love, that's why I chose to come to TW finally! I plan to do all the work myself minus lift, wheels/tires (weigh/balance/alignment), bumper replacement on rear if done, or any additional LED wiring.

    Plans for the truck include:
    1. Already removed Predator Tube Steps
    2. Full exterior and interior LEDs
    3. TRD Pro Grille (aftermarket) replacement for stock
    4. Rebadging (caps or new black badges, haven't decided yet)
    5. Solution for chrome rear bumper edges (no tech package)... Maybe repaint after scuffing?
    6. Possible regear via SDHQ
      1. *if regeared, 31" or so KO2s (loved from a previous truck, so will go with them again) and some 16 or 17s.
        1. *If bigger wheels and regear, leveling/lift kit, maybe 1.5-2" max*
      2. *If no regear, will go with different wheels and tires (selling stock)
    7. upTOP mid-height rack (love the look, price aint so bad, and the tie-down points)
    8. RTT (still selecting brand, gf likes the ikamper mini, and I can get one with a good discount)
    9. Possible roof rack (prinsu or front runner) for paddleboards/kayaks
    10. No need for maxtraxx or rotopax, as there are gas stations all around the mall
    11. Same as above, will acquire LEDs as needed... No need to make the mall parking lot any brighter.
Would love to do the Diamondback and Front Runner rack, but just simply cannot justify the price for a waterproof bed in AZ. Maybe in CO or WA :rain:. Here's the new girl!

What do ya'll think and what would you change / what have you done with yours? :proposetoast:

What a beauty! Definitely not a chrome fan but it seems very fitting for the 1st gens! Less tactical, more calming!

Looking at just replacing bulbs for LEDs for now. If I go with LED bars, may choose to save a ton and just hit up some cali raised... But then again, I can get a good discount on some BD sooooooooo . Was debating a stealth light setup for the front but if I do a bumper replacement, all that work would be for naught so that remains undecided.

That's what I did. Cali brackets but KC bar and pods. BD prices were just overkill. KC was still a premium product but reasonable price. Sub yourself to the KC garage sale thread were Taylor hooks us up with "factory seconds" on the forum!

I see you are going to replace the grill you have now with the TRD pro. I have been wanting to buy a newer stock grill. Would you be interested in selling it to me?
