    Perfect.

I’ll have to do some more digging to find mine.

No worries... Dude got one sent from another member.

What's the size and thread pitch on that? Could easily buy a new piece of all-thread or chop the head off an appropriately sized bolt.

Strange question: Does anyone have a small tent they would be willing to rent out from 7/3 - 7/10? Just myself using it. No pets, non-smoker.

Most places that rent are closed, nor do I wish to buy one to use for a week and then turn around to sell it at a loss (I almost never go camping).

That would be amazing. Would you like me to come pick it up, or just snag it once we’re on the trail?

I'm still trying to work out the logistics with my fiancee on what days I will be able to attend. If I can't go with you guys on the 3rd then we will have to meet up before then. I'll keep you posted.

Just get an ENO hammock and hang it between your bumper and a tree or another rig with a bumper. They’re really comfortable! Can even get them with a rain/bug fly.

Just be aware that hammocks can be cold at night, unless you use a hammock skirt. Also, they're not much fun in the rain. They also don't afford you much privacy for changing and "bathing" activities. Not a big deal typically, but with this large of a group, privacy may be hard to come by.

The nights shouldn't be too cold or too wet in July. All points valid though. Been hammock camping for the better part of 6 years now and don't want to go back. Pros and cons like everything.

What about using a sleeping bag while in said hammock? Toasty little person burrito.

Absolutely, you'll need a sleeping bag, unless it's HOT. The reason hammocks are cooler, vs traditional ground camping, is that you get airflow underneath you, so it just increases your contact area with the wind/air.

Most of the time you will use a combination of a top quilt and a under quilt when hammock camping. The under quilt goes on the outside of your hammock underneath you to shield you from the wind. A top quilt is like a sleeping bag with out a zipper that is normally open under you as compressed insulation doesn't keep you warm.
    [IMG][IMG]

Also - If hammock camping is something you are really considering do your back a favor and get an asymmetrical hammock so that you lay flat instead of banana style.
