I think we have different definitions of "sports car." A SC Tacoma is not fast. A stock civic ex will take you.

I would never argue against having fun in your trucks, no matter what it is that brings a person the little joys. I might make fun of it, but that means jack shit, honestly. I have an insane amount of fun just driving my toyota pickups around. I just think it would be MORE enjoyable if some of y’all enjoyed them for what they ARE, instead of pretending they are something they ARENT. They aren’t race cars. Track cars. Time attack builds. Touring roadsters. They never will be. They are small on/off road utility trucks.

Go WOT, and don’t worry about output values.

Aww c'mon that was funny @TodayWasTHeDaY

Driving habits learned in other vehicles die hard. I too heel/toe in manual trans vehicles. It's practically impossible with the current pedal setup in my taco. I haven't done the spacer in my truck yet. But, I really need to make myself one soon.
These third get cats look like they'd be fighting a nanny computer co-driver if they were to try this tho.

Hey guys! I'm headed to Home Depot to pick up some 4'x8' sheets of plywood. Any recommendations how to secure it to my vehicle?

I'd use my Tacoma, but it's currently configured for the next track day.

Don’t be. You will say things here, and people will disagree with you, and sometimes make fun of you. But then that asshole will say something super stupid, and you will make fun of him. It’s the circle of lulz.

It does if you want to pull up next to somebody and confuse them. I had fun with it. For like a block.

What I'm saying is the Tacoma pedals aren't set up for heel toe because the truck isn't made to heel toe. It's unnecessary because it is a synchronized transmission. My old Sterling L9500 had an 8LL Eaton Fuller... gas pedal and brake pedal were the same size and an inch apart because it was not synchronized. Heel toe was necessary especially approaching a red light because if it turned green before you were stopped you had to be in gear so you didn't lose it.

You're right it is none of my business how anyone wants to drive their truck. But just like I told the guy on this forum who was trying to float gears... you're doing extra work for no reason.

But whatever. Do what you want. While you're at it, try double-clutching. You'll dig it.

This thread was for people interested in heel toe shifting and I posed a diy solution with the gas pedal spacer that makes it easier. Sure heel toe is unnecessary but so is a standard transmission if you look at it that way. I find it fun as hell to drive stick and like driving it like I stole it. Only owned one automatic vehicle in my life and hated it.

    Ha! That's an oxymoron.

Want to make heel toe easier? Don't do it!

No worries though. If you guys are doing it for fun, by all means, go have fun! I was thinking everyone believed it was necessary or it was for some other purpose.

Knew a kid in high school who drove an automatic 71 Roadrunner (but it was actually a Satellite but that's another story). He would use his left foot to brake and his right on the accelerator. He had a Hurst shifter and would shift it manually actually thinking he was doing something to his advantage. Weird kid. Did a burnout once with my parents in the back seat.

I sold my 16’ GTI when I bought my Tacoma. I loved that car.

Enjoy the truck, it’s more fun for me than the car. I love to get out exploring and that GTI wasn’t cut out for anything but nice roads. Maine roads suck.

I doubt I’d be heel toe shifting even if my truck was a manual. It was fun in the GTI and WRX but I’m not sure about the Taco. I’d try it though.

Just rip WOT and slam gears.
