my man. I appreciate it. I’ve seen a couple good things but I don’t have a lot of trust for the brands...cause I haven’t seen any. :broccoli:

I run the rhino rack batwing, and like it a lot. Broke 2 poles when I forgot to tie down the legs. It was a super easy fix.

That one got my interest, is it pretty idiot-proof to setup? And how about durability? I saw some mixed reviews about the plastic they use near the swivel mount area.

I think these are new enough that not many people have them.
I made a thread asking about it in comparison with the alu-cab shadow awn 270 ($1500), and didn't get too many responses.
I'm probably just gonna get the ovs when I have the money and see.

I have mine on my camper, so it's pretty high up there. The case has a zipper along the bottom. Flip the case over to expose the awning. Loosen the three straps. Unfold the awning and start deploying it. Drop the poles and fasten them to a heavy object. Click the final clasp on the far edge to keep it tight. Repeat in the opposite direction to close the awning. I've had mine in high winds and downpour, even left it for many days in a row with no problem. I like that the hinge is plastic, so it can be replaced. It does seem weak when the batwing is deployed without the legs, especially because I have the heavier long pole set found here. Pictures here and here. I purchased mine on Amazon, but had to retun the first one because someone must have opened it with a box cutter, and sliced the cover.

The overland systems, like most manufactures, state, "awning should not be erected during windy conditions", so you'll need to use the legs either way. It does look like you can use it without the legs in zero wind conditions, but you always run the risk of the winds picking up. Overland systems design looks like it might be easier to deploy than the batwing.

I'd say go for it and let us know how it works out! Either way, these are awesome to have, and I use mine frequently to stay out of the rain, even when I'm at home!
